From Willy Harrington Inventor
I was the primary contractor responsible for finishing twenty-six timber frame houses, I encountered significant problems with cracking and damage around the sockets and light switches.
The system used at the time was, fixing timber behind the boxes and screwing the boxes in place. When the plasterboard was fixed and the boxes cut out, the houses were skimmed.
When the electricians completed the second fix there was damage around the switches and sockets, in all of the houses. Trying to repair this damage was very difficult as any bonding we used to patch holes was unsupported at the back. Also with normal use of the sockets the slab and the box could move independently causing the crack to come back.
I continued to have this difficulty in other jobs and could not find a product that would work long term. From this experience I created and patented the Back Box Fixing System to solve this problem.
